"Tagine" has a double meaning. It refers to both the utensil consisting of a round dish and topped with a conical lid, and the culinary preparation that this dish allows to prepare.

"Tajine" comes from the Arabic "Tajin", a term it self came from the ancient Greek "tagenon" means "frying pan".


      THE MAIN COURSE :

The lamb tagine is part of the usual tagine recipes in Morocco. There are many varieties, salty, sweet ; Bouchra will deliver her version, "her" lamb tagine "home".

For optimum results, you will make a wood fired cooking , on majmar The traditional Moroccan barbecue.

      YOUR MENU:

In addition this dish different preparations will call a traditional Moroccan menu:

- a rice soup with beans and milk,

- a salad,

- the traditional bread, cooked in a pan (the traditional way)

- a traditional dessert: fruit salad, fruit  or vegetable juice.

Moroccan cooking class : LAMB TAGINE

The cooking classes are approximately 3 hours of preparation, and continues by sharing a meal in a Moroccan living room, and in respect of rites and customs of traditional Moroccan meal.

      The rate includes the following services:

  • utensils and raw materials,
  • guidespoken (Arabic French English) in charge of translation and good progress of workshop,
  • tasting of the realized recipes which will be served to you in the Moroccan salon of your host,
  • 5 sorts of traditional Moroccan spices,
  • 3 recipe cards available in French or English.
  • The advantages during the workshop: photographing, a present from ateliers d'ailleurs
  • The advantages after the workshop:.emailing your photos, participation certificate, recipe sheets.

Options :

  • supplement for transport from our meeting point (medina or guéliz) : 150dhs/14e (1pers) ; 120dhs/11e (2pers) ; 90dhs/8e (3pers or +), round-trip per personn.

This was an authentic experience into the everyday life ( well nearly  ) of the average Moroccan home. We are glad this wasn't the usual commercialised tourist trap type expennsive that many companies offer.
It was also enriching to learn a lot about the cultural aspects and background of the translator & cook

We loved the cooking class and the experience to do it in a home which was a cultural as much a a cooking experience.
We would very much appreciate the recipes, you had mentioned that they would be sent by email.
The course was recommended by our riad.  Looking at your website I cannot find the details of your various courses.  It says click on services about the photo but I don't see that.  We would like to return to do another course.  It was our first time in Marrakesh and we loved it.
