This pottery training course allows you to approach the two most common
techniques of shaping practised in Morocco: the turning on the
traditional potter's wheel and the molding.
You will also discover the entire workshop's organization, from the clay kneading to the firing.
We have planned several practical works: modelling apprenticeship with the traditional potter's wheel, step by step, to realize a piece of pottery; then you learn the molding activity with Samira.
The program of your training course of pottery included:
- about 3 hours of practice: learning the various gestures until the achievement of apiece of pottery; then realization of a box and a square dish by the molding technique;
- a tea-break in company of Mustafa, craftsman potter;
- explanations and demonstrations concerning the clay activities (kneading ....),the potteries firing and glazing activities.
The following services are included in your pottery training course :
- the presence of a professional experimented professional the whole workshop; the necessary tools and raw materials for your practical work and the protection's equipment (aprons);
- the presence of a guide in charge of the translation, who will ensure the good progress of the workshop and assist you in a general way;
- the transport from our meeting place toward the workshop by taxi (two-way tickets) ;
- a snack: tea and Moroccan specialities;
- a creation-souvenir made within the workshop.
