The tadelakt workshop we propose in Marrakesh gives you a very complete overview of the manufacturing that can be achieved with this special coating original of this region.
You will discover all the working stages and their sequence: coating preparation ; its application which includes smoothing and patina; waterproofing and maintenance of the object or the decorated wall. You can obtain all the information you wish on raw materials (origin, supply) and the tools used. You will also visit a very complete showroom which gives you a flavor of the platte of products realized thanks to this technique: the full traditional production and the new trends of shapes and colours.
The practical work engages you to work on pottery and wall supports by imitating, step by step, the craftsman while he is working. The experience gained by our guides and the workers in the tadelakt workshop guarantees you high efficiency in these practical exercices: you leave by knowing how to use this coating; you would perfectionate your technique through experience.
The program of your tadelakt training course includes:
- 3 hours of practical activities: realization of the tadelakt on tiles, then decoration of a piece of pottery (that you can take out with you) and application of the coating on a wall support;
- a tea-break in company of Zakaria, craftsman owner of the workshop and/or with the members of his team;
- explanations and demonstrations concerning the waterproofing and maintenance of the tadelakt.
The following services are included in your pottery training course:
- the presence of an experimented professional during the whole workshop and the necessary tools, raw materials for your practical work and the protection's equipment (aprons, gloves);
- the presence of a guide in charge of the translation, who will ensure the good progress of the workshop and assist you in a general way;
- the transportation from our meeting place to the workshop by a travel agency taxi (round trip tickets);
- a snack: tea and Moroccan specialities;
- a creation-souvenir made within the workshop.
