EXPERT WORDS ! Tadelakt maintenance over time

By frequenting the professionals of  traditional Moroccan know-how everyday, we discover tips, useful information ... we do not hesitate to share them with you!

Tadelakt, a mixture of lime, water and pigments is a unique coating. If the application is properly executed, you get a soft, satin and waterproof coating.

Tadelakt is a natural material and therefore alive. Over time, its appearance changes. The cleaning and re-proofing become necessary. For proper maintenance, tadelakt must be re-waterproofed once or twice a year, depending on the ambient humidity.

Craftsmen recommend applying a mixture of soap and water on the surface to work, then rub with a perfectly smooth river stone, and finally wipe with a cloth.

In addition to  this first step, little expert's secret: apply  beeswax intended for maintenance of furniture and wipe dry with another clean cloth.

Such as wood or marble, your tadelakt will improve with time!

Wednesday, May 22nd, 26 Canadians have completed their trip to Morocco by a cooking workshop Cuisine and Culture at the local's. This trip was organized by the travel agency Traditours, travel experts "in the heart of the tradition."

Organized in four teams, they had in program: a tour of the market, the preparation of a tagine with preserved lemons, salad, pastries, and traditional bread that each team has cooked in the public oven. The workshop of course ended with lunch.
